Steam Shower Installation in Atlanta
Steam showers done right: vapor-proofing, slope, and a generator sized to the room.
The most common problem I see on repair calls? Steam showers built like regular showers. One gap in the vapor envelope and you've got mold behind the drywall. I strip bathrooms to the studs, seal them properly, slope the ceiling, and size the generator to the room — so the steam fills fast and the walls stay dry.

What You're Getting
SPEC SHEETVapor-Tight Waterproofing
Steam pushes moisture where standing water can't go. I seal the enclosure with liquid waterproofing membranes so vapor never reaches your framing.
Generator Sized to the Room
I size the generator to your cubic footage, ceiling height, and wall material. Too small and the steam never fills; too big and you trip the breaker.
Sloped Ceiling, No Dripping
A flat ceiling rains hot droplets on you. I frame the ceiling with a proper slope so condensation runs down the walls.
Real Controls
Digital keypad, auto-flush, aromatherapy pump — the options that are actually worth it, and the ones that aren't.
Code-Compliant 240V
Steam generators need dedicated 30–50 amp circuits. I handle the permitting and the inspection across metro Atlanta.
Tile That Holds Up
Epoxy grout, not cement grout. Cement grout absorbs moisture and grows mold — epoxy doesn't.
How the Install Goes
Phase 1: I Check the Bathroom
I inspect the framing, the panel (30–50 amps needed), and the plumbing. Then I tell you what's possible.
Phase 2: Strip & Seal
Down to the studs. Insulation in, then a continuous vapor barrier — the single most important step, and the one most contractors skip.
Phase 3: Generator & Plumbing
Copper steam lines (never PEX), generator tucked in an accessible spot, digital controls pre-wired.
Phase 4: Slope & Waterproof
Ceiling slope framed, then multiple coats of liquid membrane on every surface, joints taped.
Phase 5: Tile & Grout
Tile set with epoxy grout. No porous cement grout — that's what grows mold.
Phase 6: Fire It Up
Full-capacity steam test, heat check, and I walk you through the controls.

"We were worried about mold. Grayson sloped the ceiling, sealed everything, and the steam fills the room in minutes. No drips, no damp smell."
